Hi,

Watching GMTV (as you do) and theres a case on there where foreigners/immigrants had squatted in their house whilst they moved out to have it renovated, changed locks & damaged the alarm system. It cost them

Id agree with you matty but unfortunatly it would be you that ended up in court if your bat swinging actually connected on one of the sqatters, its wrong I know.

I'm glad that Munir Hussain had his sentence overturned this week... if only all judges thought this way?!?!?!?

I fully agree but he shouldnt of had to of had it overturned for defending himself and his family

Although he did chase down the guy with a cricket bat on a neighbouring property and not on his own but think the outcome to the initial trial would have not been far different anyway. The law is an arse.

Friend of mine had some tenants who were seriuosly in arrears with their rent so we went round & changed all the locks. Next thing he knows is that the police knocked on his door & told him he had three choices - give them the keys to the new locks, put back the original ones back or be arrested.

Sad world where the guilty & given greater legal rights than the innocent.

Your friend should have told the police he did not no what they were talking about, it is his property and a civil not police matter. Stuff like this has happened to me with rented property and it is not even worth going the legal route with it. All the police basically tell you to do is run up a load of legal bills while some toerag takes the p*ss as the above posters have said all the rights seemed to be with them.

the same as the tony martin case, i was totally on his side as the ********* traveled 90 miles (yes 90: O) to get him
