I have a job in february to change 2 (off-peak & peak rate) wylex fuseboards each 4-way, one is mounted in the porch and the other is in the hall at ceiling height.

The customer is a retired spark (a friend of the family) who did the original off-peak install himself and has asked me to find something small and stylish to replace the fuseboards with. I'm going to need a 6 way board at minimum to try and future proof, space is not really an issue other than cosmetically and he wants it the same size as the old wylex 4 way!!

I personally think that the MK sentry boards are quite easy on the eye and they also come as a 6 way with dual rcd.

I have a stock of Wylex rcbo's I would like to use and have thought about buying an empty CU, but the see through covers don't look great in my opinion, especially when they are plastered with warning stickers!

Any ideas?

Taste and style to one person is an absolute pooh hole to another person....

I would give him a screwfix book, toolstation book, TLC catalog etc.. etc...

tell him to look though and find something he finds appealing...

then you get the spec that HE has defined!!!

;)

Or look at it another way......

which modern CUs look and absolute abomination!!!?

then cross them off the list!

:)
