How about, and I am just thinking out load so don't slate me   Can you get to the top of the wall? if so get a ball bearing the size of hole you are wanting, hold it in a pair of water pump pliers, heat with blow torch, drop in line with the cut out you have made for the back box at the top of the wall, hey presto ball bearing will melt its way down the poly insulation and drop into your Golden Virginia tobacco tin lid you have placed at the back box cut out.

Of course this could go totally wrong and set fire to the insulation of may be impractical as you can't get the bearing in at top of wall.
