Doing remedials after an NICEIC firm did a PIR on 1/9/12 (so what's this EICR business anyway!)

Fault - switch in wrong polarity - level 2.

Turns out switch was mounted upside down!

1960's/70's installation - all insulation >200M - yeah right 10M and 1.25M

Fridge unable to be isolated - Level 2 - where is that a requirement?

Hall light not working (Blown lamp) - Level 2 - I'm really scared now!

Why are there so many cowboys under a supposedly respected banner!!!

I am looking at a distribution board where a 5 Amp type 2

breaker has been removed and replaced with a 20A type 2

and a radial in 2.5 mm has been installed together with

the ORIGINAL 1.5mm lighting circuit on the same 20A type

2. Done, I am told, by somebody who knew what he was about.

I found the 5 Amp device while rummaging a store with the

boss.

more to do with why are there so many thieves?

Thank you for PM Dave. There is a growing campaign to get the afore mentioned thief struck off the NIC register. Alas like so many things it is difficult to get evidence albeit the trail of crap is getting very longindeed now!! Trouble is the faults tend to get corrected by other sparks following behind as customer is normally in a hurry to sort stuff out :shakehead .

Out of interest were all the Ze results in the order of 0.36 ohms? Including all the lighting circuits?

Hall light not working (Blown lamp) - Level 2 - I'm really scared now! As its a report, thats what hes done, but it did not warrent a code. I have made remarks in the past that due to lack of light bulbs in most areas some circuits may not been checked for full working effectiveness

i have seen worse
