Hi,

We have just bought a property and are switching from the existing Economy 7 system to a single tariff system with radiators from EcoPower Heating. Will this switch affect our water heater? Currently there are two switches; as i understand it, the top switch is a 'boost' button which is expensive but will heat water as and when needed. the bottom switch we have on all the time which seems to heat the water periodically in the day.

when we make this switch, will we only be able to use the boost button? If so, is there anyway we could set a timer to have the water heated as normal, without having to pay for an expensive 'last minute' water heat up?!

Any advice will be appreciated!

Thank you!

The economy 7 tariff heated your water tank overnight when electric was cheaper. Now you've gone on normal tariff you will be paying flat rate for all electric used. So will be dearer.

And you will be paying full rate to run your "eco" heaters, so that will probably be more expensive as well.

Make sure the bottom (full tank) immersion heater is re connected.

As you are now paying full rate, a "last minute" water heating strategy will be best. There's little point heating it early and storing it.

electric heaters are pretty much 100% efficient.

basically, its going to use the same amount of electric to heat the property, but your now paying more for the electric....
