would anyone recomend a stanley fat max technicians tool tote or something similar for everyday use to carry every day tools:Salute

My business partner swears by his. I carry a Makita tool pouch which has all my everyday and most used tools in it. I then leave a tool bag on the van which has my more specialist kit in which doesn't get used everyday.

I use both kinds (square and oblong), no probs here....

I do not think [well for me anyway] that the perfect way for lugging your kit about has yet been invented. They are all a compromise that never quite 'hit the mark'.

I do quite like the Turtle Case BUT I also like having money in my pocket soooooooooooooooo FIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT!!

At present [well for the last 6 months at least] I have been using a spare Fluke case [the yellow jobby with the small tray in it] seems to be the best I have found so far AND i have been looking for 35+ years and as a result have a garage filled with totes, bags, boxes, back packs,cases, cannot find the old Army Surplus gas mask bag that I used when I was an apprentice BUT that would probably be quite acceptable .... :coat

I've had mine for 5 years it has had a new foot, the handle is getting a bit dodgy to retract, the hinges have been damaged by "my" plumber, bent the wrong way, but they still work and in the last few weeks the first of the elastic straps has broken, but for the last 5 years it has had the jaws of my 10" adjustable up against it, the wheels came loose, but these were tightened up and sorted easily.

It gets abused regularly and is used every day I am working and not in the office.

When it goes I WILL replace it even at the cost it is.

For what I do it is excellent.

The kit it carries is awesome, never all you need, and due to the diversity of my work this would never be possible, there are days when only 1% of what it carries is used, others when there is a heck of a lot more!!!

Thats the one Matty, it comes in a 16" length size too I think.

My mate bought the DeWalt tool tote B&Q had on offer a couple of years back and the handle fell off within a week of light use ! I have had the stanley fatmax tool tote and it is very well made i paid

Ok guys this is a serious question. Why in the holy carp would anyone use a tote? We all work outside from time to time and one rain shower and your tools are rusty inevitably. An enclosed toolbox is the only answer keeps em dry and covered, less likely target for tool "magpies" and best off all is a handy hop-up for stuff you can't reach. Serious arguments only!!
