Yes John

I know......

but its nice to see mistakes like that and wonder...

how many brickies are going to phone up

got oone of these but never used it, lent it someone never had it back. TBH I did the footings for the conservatory and used a laser level and a string line as well as a spirit level, rubber mallet to knock the blocks down until I saw the red glow of the laser on top of the bricks and just carried on like that. never laid bricks before and havent since but it looks OK.

There are not that many things that I cannot do and achieve a passable [ish] standard. Bricklaying however total fricking waste of time!!! How fricking hard can it be??? Does not matter what 'bond' you are doing, English, Stretcher, garden Wall, Soldiers, Rat-trap etc it is all 'one brick on top of two'....ALL my brickwork has to be rendered or plastered I AM CARP AT IT !!!.....did a short garden wall once, string not tight enough and formed a perfect parabola, did not really matter as it was not plumb either... :coat

The "Bricky". I have one, have used it and am VERY impressed. It makes laying NEAT blockwork PI$$ easy IMHO. Not used it for laying bricks but lent it to a mate who did for his conservatory and again he found it a good thing. It does what it says on the tin. Was always put off of block laying before I got one:
