Actually Jono the average UK voltage is 242v, but in some areas include mine in the midlands we are closer to 252volts, trust me my iphone charger gets very warm on a night time

I bet your charger gets warm at night because that's when your phone is being charged... It'll only warm up when it's under load

well there is your problem. i suggest you dont connect it to anything to prevent it from getting warm, therefore save you money by not wasting all the electric

So it seems then that you are lacking in basic electrical theory knowledge

Power in = power out (+losses)

So .... If there is no load then there's no way that the psu will get warm....

No Noz, the point I was making was that the higher the voltage the hotter the charger gets
