First thing this morning I needed to nip into B&Q to buy a tape measure. When I returned to the van, opened the back door it was full of smoke. My first thought

just been thinking,

was the dust sheet plastic???? can the sunlight from your front window shine through into the back of the van?

if so then its possible that the sun shining through the window and onto the sheet, therefore causing it to heat up and begin smouldering! then when you opened the doors you added o2 into the mix. so ina sense m4atty is right Spontanios Combustion!

Maybe it is worth relaying to B&Q HQ - carp service and all that, and by the way - have you used your trade card yet - never seems to get any discount!!!!!

even more reason for keeping your own fire extinguisher... i have a 1KG powder in the cab, 2KG powder & 6L foam in the back. fortunately, never had to use any of them yet

I believe a linseed soaked rag caused a huge fire in a office block in america years ago, watched a bit of a program about it.

spilt/dust containing urethane can heat & smoulder due to chemical reaction

i refuse to use them unless i have no choice any more after waiting 30 mins at a check out for a price conformation ended up walking out leaving every thing at till
