In reality the rise is
And to follow SL's
Badger don't forget half would go to the HMRC, so your down to
It would be in an off shore bank account ahNah mate if you have that in the bank you don't pay much tax!
And that is why when teaching history it should be about history of this country not some place else in the world like they are trying to do nowOne other point to remember...No matter Which party is in government..
no matter what the state of the economy is...
Once any party has been in power for 10+ years TWO problems unfold...
1/ The governing party becomes power blind thinking they are invincible
2/ A younger generation of voters (the 20 to early 30's age group) who can never clearly remember the other party being in power or how their underlying policies actually manifest themselves...
are lead easily into thinking that the opposition party(s) have some miraculous answers that will benefit every one!
time has to tick by for reality to bite and sink back in!

Youngsters do not be fooled...
p.s.
another problem of modern industry is that they often get rid of a lot of the older wiser management personnel and bring in younger graduate bods still wet behind the ears with very little real knowledge or experience of life...
Chocked up to the eyeballs with all the business speak and lingo
But not a clue how to resolve real problems..
Basically no more than children doing mens jobs!

Maybe teach a bit more of UK's modern history!!! As things change at such a rapid pace these days. And that is why when teaching history it should be about history of this country not some place else in the world like they are trying to do now
Oh so true, not so long ago I was a senior manager with direct responsibility of sales turnover in the several 10's of millions, I was very good at hitting targets, because I'd been in the business for 20 years so understood it (e.g. the experience as Specs has eluded to), my very much younger boss (a director) was always talking in riddles (management speak), and always looking for new ideas "we need some blue sky thinking!" ROTFWL . I don't think I ever saw a new idea that had not been thought of before albeit with a fresh coat of 'Management Speak' paint. But sadly I was only good at producing target busting results, so after a while the genius decided I was not a "team player", you can now understand why I'm now longer in that tradeanother problem of modern industry is that they often get rid of a lot of the older wiser management personnel and bring in younger graduate bods still wet behind the ears with very little real knowledge or experience of life...

There you are Specs, I have saved you some typing:Salute Been there seen that scenario a few time myself...
There is another business trend in the same vein which causes more grief than good.... The basic principal works something like this:-
i) American management ethos
ii) American management ethos
iii) American management ethos
