Chatting with a couple of SSE blokes today, they recounted a recent run in with a TV personality.......

The scene: A wet evening on a rural lane & contractors have hit a distribution cable near a ford & the substation isolators have been pulled for SSE guys to undertake a repair.

2 blokes in the hole doing the fix with another stood looking on......

Up rolls a top of the range rangerover.....Buzzzzt goes the electric window & a stern female voice gives it...

"Have you turned of the electric?"

SSE blke on the edge of the hole replies

"yes we are working on he cables in wet conditions so have isolated it"

The woman comes back with.

"well I have a dinner party with 12 guests tonight, how am I supposed to cook for them, can you not turn on the electric for me"

SSE bloke on the edge of the hole.

"Err no as I say we are working on the cable so it is isolated for our safety"

Classic from the woman...

"I need my electric on....DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM"

SSE bloke ....

"I'm so sorry love I didnt know you had Alzheimer's....your name is Anne....Anne robinson, now if you can remember the power is off for our safety .... ok?"

This may have been a story that's been twisted and turned about and was most likely someone else to be honest.

She does not live down a rural lane, nor does she have a range rover, there is no ford anywhere near to her property.

The way she is on TV is nothing like her in the real world, she is very pleasant and understanding.

To be honest i didnt think she lived in Wiltshire (that was where they said it happened) but I thought the story was good.

I worked on DIY SOS last week. Did a couple of days plastering.

Was just like it is on telly

Is it true that Billy has no scam provider membership?
Well he did have because they made big thing about it when he applied and was given it, however I have noticed they keep getting other contractors in to so say help him, but then maybe he feels he's to old for it now.
