the BS number for a typical CU isolator has gone out my head. bad day explode

what is it?

Mmmmm, I think that would depend on the switch. I tend to just put the 60947, in the same way I only put 60898 and 61008 without the -2 etc. The box is only so big and my writing ain't all that small!

BS 1363 Plug Top Fuses

BS 88 Cartridge Fuses (General purpose)

BS EN 60898 Miniature Circuit Breakers

BS 3871 Miniature Circuit Breaker (Old Style)

BS EN 60947 3 Main Isolators

BS EN 61008 Main RCDs

Just out of interest, the list mentions RCD Socket, But what about RCD Fused spurs?

I would have thought they were 7288's too.

are right as i don't see "main" or "isolators" only low voltage switch gear 60947

circuit breakers 60947-2 old 3871?

60947-3 switches,disconnectors,switch-disconnectors

Im sorry, you've lost me.

I've had another search, and the same list keeps reappearing all over the place, though not on any 'official' sites, just forums and buisness sites?

in the regs they only list disconnectors not "main" or "isolators"

so was just questioning the terminology used in the list you found

what are bs3871 now?

*EDIT*

I'm sorry, I thought you we having ago!

Have now re-read what you posted, are you trying to say that when you looked in regs books to find it, you couldn't find any referance to main switch etc?
