Hi, this is my first post on here but I have viewed the board in the past and find it very informative, I hope you can help me ? Ive just finished my 2330 level 3 and am NOT working in the electrical industry as of yet. My plan was to find work as a mate and complete my NVQ Level 3. Am I right in thinking that I have just wasted 2 years of my life as the 2330 are no longer relevant and will not count towards the NVQ L3 . I understand that the new 2357 is coming in and as of dec 2010 the current NVQ will no longer be available to do, in which case what was the point in doing the 2330 levels 2 and 3 if they cant/dont count towards anything ?

Will I still be able to do the NVQ level 3 or will my 2330 level 2 and 3 count towards the new 2357 ? Im abit confused and worried that all my hard work over the last 2 years has been for nothing ? ?

Register before 31st Dec this year with a college or training provider and you have 2 years to complete.

Richard Woodcock the C&G lead verifier is attempting to cross reference units to enable existing qualifications to count towards the 2357 if worst comes to worst

Dunno about your question plenty of others on hear are in training at moment perhaps they can help but welcome to the forum.

Cheers guys thanks for the quick replies,

thats encouraging news msb2003 , do you know if I would be able to register to do the NVQ 3 without having found work ? I understand that I need to be in work to start it but is this neccessary in order for me to register also, thanks in advance

You don't have to be in employment for any of it! you just need access to 'real' work so it could be working unpaid simply for experience
