Repaired the sump on a car of mine the other year with that metal putty type stuff passed the MOT for 2 years before i got rid of it, far as i know still no issues!
I had an old old vw caddy, one of the glow plug threads got damaged and broke, a bit of chemical metal later and she was back up and running.

I had a Transit Connect long wheel base, 2 side loading doors. Just about enough room but had nothing but trouble with it from day 1. Got rid of it after 6 months and got a Renault Traffic. Great van. What ever van you go for try and get 2 side loading doors. Makes life so much easier.

I have a 59 plate Transporter. Had a couple of little problems more annoying than anything else. Have had it from new and done a bit of reading on van forums before getting one. Everyone seems to have a horror story one way or another about different vans. If we listened to all of them we would go to work on our bikes.. People only write about their vans when they have a major problem!!

the problem with that is its 2 more places for the scum to get in.

but they do make life a lot easier.

I've got an 09 plate vivaro and to be fair it's been ok so far (63k) although the build quality does leave something to be desired.

I've changed the rear discs and pads already and the fronts will be changed before it goes for its mot.

It seems to be quite heavy on fuel too

I just bought an 08 nissan primastar ( same as vivaro/trafic), 58000mi, full service history, reverse sensors, racked out inside, roof rack with tube rack and deadlocks on the rear doors (a must IMO) .
