how do you make it selv? and what lamps woul i use?
To male it SELV would involve feeding it through a transformer. Then fit suitably rated lamps. Fairly certain this is almost exactly what I wrote before!

For instance, we did a job in a swimming pool and the customer wanted these particular wall lights in a zone which could only have SELV fittings. The fittings were fed from 12V transformers in the roof space and we then used 12V BC lamps, which are exactly the same as 230V BC lamps, apart from they are 12V.

I've done jobs where the customer has wanted daft stuff in zoned areas or other special locations. Make it SELV and then stick suitably rated lamps in it.
ok doing that dont they still have to be the correct ip rating?

thanks lurch, so this maybe a way around it, its quite a size ensuite so may, if she keeps on, suggest to put it on 12v out of any zones.

thanks chap

If it is fitted 'Out of any zones' you can still use 230v..

don't need to be 12v :)
