Wifi SmartStat connection

Does anyone know if these will connect to a mobile hotspot or do i have to have a router? 

One of these

My stat is on its way out and I'm looking for a replacement. I know it's more of a gadget than anything else but just interested to know. If not I'll just bang a standard one on

Thanks Noz. Unfortunately i don't have a router and rely on mobile network. Not sure if that's an option for wifi stats

You could use a WiFi switch that's connected to your WiFi hotspot,,,, but I guess that your WIFi goes where your phone goes??

No it stays at home and the whole house use it. I've got another phone that i take out for day to day use. The one at home is on a contract with unlimited Internet so thought a wifi stat could connect and stay connected. I'll have to investigate a wifi switch. Thanks again.

I thought that I was wrong.... they're called WiFi access points...

that will connect to your WiFi hotspot and give you some Ethernet sockets that you can hardwire into

Have a look at the Salus IT 500. I have one and fit them too.
