Did you put an isolator in generally an idea to so you can isolate light easily if it goes faulty. I generally find I get the awkward ones where cavity is blocked glad it worked out OK.

Agree with Noz surely if you sell them really that is theft.

They can be a real pain to get the electrics in poor design. I had the customer on the bed holding the fan while I tried to connect the new unit he nearly fell off at one point they have a hook to hold the fan but then you can't get your hand in to connect the wires. I use wagos which help but...

I have just had to replace the electronics on a fantasia ceiling fan that had stopped working customer did get a new remote and electronic unit from fantasia not sure if they paid for it or it was FOC. Not sure how old it was either so really no help sorry.

You certainly will need an electrician to sort this out and as it is a new circuit it will need signing of by someone good luck with that. Cheap jobs quite often cone back to bite you.

If you are replastering then I personally would have the ceilings down especially if you are clearing the house. This should make the job a fair bit cheaper granted they will need retacking but it will save a hell of a lot of time. also your floorboards won't get ruined.

Welcome to the forum as a sparks I will say if you find a good one look after him or her and he/she will look after you. Generally recommendation is good and usually works. Good luck with it.
