Another C2 or C3

Domestic property.

Sockets outside is fed via twin and earth in metal galv conduit.

The galv conduit runs from the soffit boards to the socket and is only being used for mechanical protection. However its not earthed or bonded.

Plastic weatherproof socket and it's coupling and bushed into it.

So C2 or C3 ? I'm thinking C3 and it's not part of the earthing system and only extraneous metalwork.

If you have a brass bush connecting the socket to the conduit you could argue the single insulated conductors are not adequately separated from it.

C3 gets my vote, should be bonded at socket end or replace with plastic conduit.

the chances of the metal becoming live are so slim so its a C3 from me.

So basically the cable is double insulated.
