Thoughts and condolences to this family..

It is tragic when anyone is electrocuted, even more so with a life so young.

Quite often members of the forum can be accused of being a bit over harsh or unhelpful to others asking questions about electrical work they are not competent to do...

Whereas 99.999% of the time I see that our members are more concerned about everyone working safely,

rather than getting the job done with dangers 

Cases such as this tragic incident are another reminder that electricity can be very unforging..

Treat it with care everyone.

Complacency tends to set in around Xmas ( from what I have seen regarding Xmas lights )

There are already over 20 Lidl/aldi/ tesco joint covers near me at present and probably not an RCD in site

That is  very tragic , I agree with Specs there.   

And amazing how we hear of toerags cropping through live cables to steal them and seemingly getting away with their lives but a child dies just getting down the Christmas decorations,  very sad.

This is unbelievably tragic.  Christmas decorations have been sacked

in my house but when I read this.........
