Thats odd, ive been using the 2.54 conversion rate for years, even when doing designing work on my inflatables i manufactured for 15 years, and everything always fitted fine?

sproc,

They converted by 2.54, then kept the suffix as being METRIC!

i.e. they started with 2.54mm, this then was converted to 1mm!

NOT 1" !!!

:slap

Do you mean a mootor with a rotating commutator assembly which in itself was motorised and could rotate about the rotor axis and change the phase angle? I last saw one on a Weber extruder machine in a plastics factory about 10 years ago.

A bloke that made coffee used to be called [i think that this is the correct term...] "A bloke that makes coffee"...now they are called a fricking Barista FFS! is this so that their proud mothers can boast that their offspring is a Barrister and hope that nobody notices the pronunciation....WTF is the world coming to??? [ok, it's Ravel's Bolero, we all know that]..... :coat

he's called what,?

thats a bit harsh, just cos your coffee was a bit cold no reason to call him, a bestird, even though he probably was a bit of a pretentiuous one anyway, thats why I dont drink the stuff. too much to go wrong.!

That's modern new fangled stuff.

Now who remembers sending and receiving messages by TELEX?

And anyone remember Prestel?

And my first insight into computing at school, Fortran, programmed by typing your code on to punched cards, leaving the stack of cards in the in tray, and going back next day to get the printout of your program, which usually just said "syntax error in line 20" so you re typed line 20, resubmitted your stack of cards, and came back the next day....

Only the privileged were allowed access to an on line terminal, where you could enter your program, stored on punched paper tape, and get a real time printout of the program running.
