One of my customers called me today, and said the bloke whos doing the cladding on our unit has screwed into a cable.

I thought cant be that bad, maybe its a floodlight cable or similar

Until i got there and its the 150mm 4 core sub main

According to it they say it went with a bit of a bang, with a flash

Took one of the main fuses out

I picked up a joint kit and a fuse on the way home - nice job for in the morning :^O

Awkward !!!

I forgot to add i can just about reach it with the scissorlift at full stretch

Sounds like someone was lucky there not to go bang themselves?

nasty.

the 150mm 4 core sub main
Floppin eck!!!

As the old insurance advert went...

Thats not lucky... Its MORE THAN!

I guess they went home with right brown pants!!!! :| :O:O

I can't recall drilling though many cables?

But I did go through a wall light supply once...

(UP the wall from below the light!!!) :(

that seemed to be a big enough bang & flash for my liking! :| :(

I took some more pics ( but also dont know what happened to the later ones, must find out how to work my phone properly )

It turned out to be solid aluminium conductors, so the mechanical connectors had to go in

Heres some of the early progress

Managed to salvage the pics from my phone

I later applied the case and resin, but god knows what happened to them pics

If i find them somewhere on my memory card i will post them later

Well the pictures you have got are nice anyway Carl and from what I can see they do look a bit blackened and charred along the conductors from when the damage was done. It must have been quite a bang and flash?

Doc H.

Some of the black marks leave nice effects on the walls

I spoke to him later and he said all he can remember is a big flash and bang and the drill ended up on the scissorlift floor, must have took it out of his hands.

The young kid who was with him ( also up the scissorlift ) said his face was tingly like sunburn that night, so he must have caught some of the flash aswell.

They did ask me how serious this could have been, and after i explained he said its lucky i can laugh about it now, and more attention has to be paid when drilling.
