Cast conduit box lids.

Are the cast lids still available for steel conduit boxes? Can't seem to find them anywhere.

Im not talking about the very thin flimsy lids made from steel sheet that wholesalers seem to sell nowadays, I mean the old thick solid cast lids that would tighten and clamp down nicely onto the rubber gasket instead of just bending at the screws and leaving a gap top and bottom.

You need to speak to your wholesaler and ask for the more expensive lid, you can get a thicker steel lid

Maybe ask these bods what the difference is between their "Light" & "Heavy" circular galv box lids are...

(other than 10x the price)..

Can't tell from the pictures..

I thought "thicker lids" was a fundamental requirement for all electricians...

So they can put up with the continual bombardment of reg's updates and amendments!!!
