If you add a new ring final circuit I understand that you have to complete the electrical intsllation cert as it's a new circuit. If you also need to extend the existing lighting circuit would you also need to complete a minor electrical works?

If you were doing them both in the same job, I'd put them both on the installation cert. but then that's just me!

you could use a MWC for extending the other circuit, but often easier to stick the info on the EIC and only have 1 cert for both

I would use two certs just to ensure you are not certifying someone elses dodgy work.

I use two certs, you have to fully explain the extent of your work, if you give an EIC on an extention your responsible for the whole circuit.

If you have added an additional light I would put that on a minor works and test out the circuit giving the details of what I had done.
