Guys having a min blank anyone know exact date regs changed that rcd was needed for cables chased into walls under the min depth?

1st jan 2008. same date as 17th came out

Although the 17th came out around the 1st January 2008 it did not come into force until 1st July 2008

True didn't think of that... Just trying to sort out problems a customer had just spent 2 day sorting out a complete mess done by niceic company!

Can niceic member numbers be checked online?

Don't think any scheme has a list of numbers of there contractors which to me seems strange so customers can't really check. Niceic have a list of firms using there logo though.

I am with BSI and have a kitemark number so that can be checked easily online.

Batts, are you the only member of the BSI scheme ?

In terms of self advertising they are not in the 4th division , in fact they are not in the league, they are in the two coats on the ground for goals division . :innocent

Has to customer tried putting a complaint in to the NICEIC if it is such a shambles???

have you seen the actual electrical certificate for the alleged bad work....

With the description of the work carried out?

Or is it just the customer saying what has been done??

They are not big on advertising but as they have other schemes and do all the testing I suppose its just a sideline. I think they only have around 140 members in the part p scheme.
