Door Entry Basics...

Something Ive never had to do, but now as part of a bigger job Ive been asked to install a door entry system for an outdoor gate. 

Kids come to gate, buzz mum indoors, mum answers, they talk then she lets them in. 

As far as I know I need a 5 core from panel to handset, its a long run around 50m

Can I run a basic armour to this or does it need to be twisted pairs ?

Is the wiring very basic if I have diagram ?

If you can read and understand a diagram then it should be straight forward.

some need balanced twisted pair for voice

some need 5 wires

some need a single pair

it all depends on which system you go for

some video systems need a co ax

some video systems work off the twisted pair!!

Wouldn't all this be clear on the diagram, it has on the ones that I've done.

Try to go with the better quality stuff  too.
