Funny how safety is important to some bosses - when it suits them... ie when a H&S inspector is around but as soon as the coast is clear expects you to compromnise your own safety to suit themselves. Good on you for walking off the site and I hope he ended up with egg on his face!
dead right rev. beginning of medium to long jobs are the worst. lost of safety to begin, the last few weeks dam they'd have you on stilts on steps on top of a tower to get the job finished :pray

 
I saw a wonderful example of flouting working at heights regs on a new build on monday.

New house, with double height living room going right up to the apex.

Scaffold tower that was too short for the job, so the planks were right on the top, so no handrail.

Stepladder stood on the planks on the top of the scaffold tower.

THREE people standing on the one stepladder, one on the top of it, and one each side of it, manhandling the sheets up, then screwing them to the wall.

It's no wonder accidents happen. Thankfully in this case they got away with it.

What was really needed was a taller scaffold tower.
