So that'll be another ticket you have to have - quango and closed shop springs to mind.

What doesn't help is the whole EV sector hasn't fixed a standard to work with. I'm about to fit 2 pillars from Rolec now normally you get fairly comprehensive fitting instructions with electrical gear, but all that is in the box is 'comply with local regulations' or words to that effect, which is a cop-out.

Half of the problem is that the auditing company are absolute rubbish,, massively over coding and coding things that are correct

722 and the CoP are the only real (additional) documents for installing EV charge points

How do you support those accusations.

Got to agree with you, it's the same across the board I reckon, we used to get audited for gas work (we did allot of work for Local authorities so auditing was employed by them) they would code things as not compliant when actually it was, just what they didn't particularly like instead of what the law and subsequent codes of practice said. Its the same with electrics too, so much variation on interpretation.

EV installations will only get worse.

DIYers can buy the kits, they don’t know or care about the installation supply type, earthing or bonding

sub contract EV installers get a set fee, so often the installations are poor all round

and then there are plug in hot tubs - the same applies

and then there are the growing numbers of sparks who don’t do it correct / provide certificates etc

I've seen posts where people have issued a C2 for lack of an RCD sticker,,,, with a photo of the CU with a RCD sticker on it...
also,,, cables with no fire proof fixings when they're outdoors and within a few mm of a horizontal surface,,, or only run a couple of foot from where it exits the property to the charge point

In many points their own paperwork contradicts itself
