No use Apache, TBH it would take up too much space in the van, and would be too heavy! ;)

The inverter will fit into the roof space, the van has split charge as leaving the factory.

 
TBH, the hot exhaust & the rubbishness of battery irons, is one of the reasons I am looking to put a serious inverter in the back of the van, that way I can run a tidy light, a soldering iron, a heat gun a power supply and even do some testing of kit on site if needed to do simple repairs.
already beat you to it... 1kw inverter all wired in, various sockets inside & out, hour timer & relay to switch drill battery chargers etc on. what more could you need...

 
Mine, the posh one is full of gas, sparks when it should just doesn't work. The cheapo plastic Rolson thing that takes disposable lighters just keeps on going:
