The voltage tester was in this weeks aldi magazine. Think it was only £6!

I dont think any of the guys on here would buy that its more for diy bob and his handymen!

Therefore i dont think megger mark has anything to worry about as he knows his market!

As Robin says more aimed at DIY than professional I would have thought? When considering some of the typical DIY questions we get on the forum, where someone is replacing a light fitting or two way light and got the lives and switched lived mixed up a basic simple to use product like this may be a help to the DIY'er. But they would also need to be familiar with verifying all the LEDs are working correctly on a known supply, before using it to diagnose a problem or verify something is dead. However a basic £25 multimeter with a few more functions would probably be a better investment overall for DIY use.

the problem with a multimeter for DIY is assuming they actually know what setting to have it on,

a meter like this will [if working even half properly] show a live before they hopefully dont touch it.

From a personal point of view AND from experience I would not advise a DIYer to use a Multimeter UNLESS they were 100% happy in the use of ALL its functions and settings.......

my main reason for this is seeing the results of a DIYer trying unsuccessfully to emulate me by attempting to measure his Zs on a socket using his newly purchased multimeter on the Ohm setting.........this met with very very little success and the outcome was not a positive one!

back in the day I used to advocate the use of a Steinel Combi Check ( still made?)..... Idiot proof

just saying
