Weird how B&Q are the same firm as screwfix essentially but SF wont sell gas fittings to people unless they hold registration. Shows all they care about is the money.
SF will sell anyone gas fittings

never came across SF not selling gas stuff. If i wanted, i could legally do gas work in my own home (at least i could under corgi). so why should i not be allowed to buy the fittings?

And if thats really the case, shouldnt they stop selling electrical gear to joe public (stuff like consumer unit's etc)

In the last catalogue they had all gas fittings restricted to corgi/gas safe only.

Must have lost them money!

There's a little symbol and a note saying must only be installed by gas safe engineer - but you can still buy it.

(I ordered gas PTFE tape by accident recently)

looking through some SF catalogues, it says on teh gas page that certain items must be fitted by a Corgi installer, but nothing about restrictions on buying

Dont know where i saw it then. Defiantly had a catalogue where gas equip would only be sold to people who could prove corgi registration.

(Unless this was my dream world again...Blushing)

agreed, your right it is a joke, i do think it works as well though, no1 will give you a chance to even do the work unless registered around here.although there are plenty of handymen doing dangerous work everywere.

i think it should be made so unless qualified and registered you cannot do any electrical work on domestic like it is with gas
but how could you do your two jobs for registration? ?:|
