Hi I'm Stuart, based in Lincoln.

Self employed electrician at present due to being laid off after completing my apprenticeship. Looking for work in the industrial sector or commercial works. Aiming to get my safety passport done soon. Apprentice time served to NVQ level 3 C&G 2330 16th edition, registering at college to do my 17th edition next week.

Hi everyone. I'm a long time DiYer who's been in radio and electronics all my life. I used to be qualified enough to carry out domestic electrical work, but the world moves on and the goal posts constantly shift. I'm now caught out by the Part P regulations, since I wish to re-model the whole kitchen, but the old wiring is not up to snuff and I am not allowed to correct it myself. I understand the issues, but the way it is bound about with registration or notification is draconian in my view, and a lovely way to mint fresh money from householders.

Anyway, I'm here to learn the 'new' ways and hope to not ask too many silly questions. A pointer to a good co-operative sparks in my locality would be useful too! I'd love to talk through the design, carry out first fix myself, and then get it connected, tested and certified properly.

Hi i have come out of the electronics industry and am now setting up on my own as a local electrician. I passed my 2382 a few weeks back and have an elecsa visit booked. I have done untold "schoolwork" in relation to electronics and gained diplomas and a degree in the process. I have also kept my hand in and done plenty of electrical work for a friend of mine who has his own registered company. The people on this forum seem to be far more friendly and non-elitist to others i have read. I know i am behind most in the practical sense but have to work to remedy this!! I hope you are as friendly with me as you all seem to be with other members. I have worked to micro tolerences to design and build circuits that would be used on a nuclear submarine and this is where my main experience lies; electronics, so if any of you have any specific electronic related faults im always about to help :)

Hello from foggy Cornwall.

I've been an electrician for too long now (25 years) and specialise in all the odd stuff no one else is stupid enough to take on, eg machinery repairs, automation, large and awkward buildings etc.

Recently been doing a lot of LED lighting conversions on said large establishments.

I'm self employed (read fool) and have one full time employee and sub con as required.

I like beer and taking photographs underground.

I waste my money on cars.

Cheersmedears.

Mark
