there are a lot of issues here that do need professional legal advice....

Try either Citizens Advice

or ring a few local solicitors...

see if they do free half-hour consultation / evaluation meeting to suss out your options...

Personally I would go to CAB first.

Start collating a written documentation of full course of events and keep it will all letters received or sent by you.

In these cases a time line is helpful. Sit down & draft everything out in chronological order. It will help you present your case & also those that you go to for advice.
