.....not to bad I hope. In these mad times just wondering how it's affecting others with work/business. Hope most here sole traders and put enough through the books for a bit of breathing space. Unfortunately for me set up as Ltd so Rishi the little **** stain not got got us covered  Still ticking over thank God as not been going to long so have had to join quite a few bidding sites....kills me to pay them but luckily winning enough works like DB changes, garden works, added with the odd call out job things could definately be worse. Would rather be home keeping safe but just not really got the option.

to be fair to the government, i dont see why they should have to bail out everyone for something that wasnt their fault... dont forget, whatever is paid out, they will be getting back through extra taxes, increased VAT etc so really your still going to end up worse off anyway...

Work has fallen off a cliff for me. Nobody wants you in their house.

One job last week a broken storage heater. One job this week, replace on outside floodlight. If it ever arrives by post.

I am nearly running out of work on my own house as I can't get building material.

Just praying our tenants will still be able to afford to pay their rent.  And praying I might get a grant from the government.

Sorry to hear that Dave. Nearly all my work got cancelled over night..like you said most just don't want us In their house at the minute. Hate recommending the pay for lead sites really not a way to run a decent business for long haul but these are extraordinary times if can give you some income has got to be better than nothing. There is still some work out there just got to spread the net wide to try catch any that is. Hope you can get the grant mate. Let's just hope things start to improve soon

Why on earth did you set up as limited?
I had been working though it quite a few years sub contracting was a better bet when HMRC started clamping down on CIS forcing you through umbrella companies. In all fairness it isn't that different from being sole trader, still all expenses treated the same and get the benefit of things like van purchase as tax deductible and any other motor costs. Don't pay a great deal for accountant either. Haven't gone VAT registered that would be a whole nother level of ball ache.
