Thanks lads may as well do it while I've got the chance.

Other thing is it may well have been one of those opertunitys that I may have regretted if I didn't do it.
I'd give that advice to anyone,

if you ever get the chance of working overseas take it,

coming from someone who's background started with working overseas counted london as an apprentice, it set me up for a life of hunger and wanting more of it,,,,

saying that, it may also set you up for a life of alcohol and the joy that also brings,,,,,,,,

a norn iron apprentice in that thar big London at 17 ended up in Europe and even Kiwiland,

as my dad used to say, an apprenticeship is easily carried, it will go where-ever you take it,

:D

about the only useful piece of advice he ever gave me. ....

Heels is right - Sakara is the better brew, IMHO - and I`ve drunk a fair bit of it ..... ;)

Hope all goes well for you mate - stay on here - maybe we can meet up the next time we get out there.................

Good luck, I am slightly envious. A few words of warning.......

Be careful of being scammed on the currency....they have pilastres. And pounds. They look the same but there are 100 pilastres to the pound AND about 10 of their pounds to one of ours

Do NOT drink Stella local ( green bottles ) it will, make you bad, drink Stella premium, meisener or ( i think) sakara

Drink nothing out of a bottle that you have not opened yourself

Don't trust salad

NEVER be tempted to smell their money, seriously. I know that you now WILL sniff it and then think to yourself. WTF.....he was right!

Other salient advice to follow if I remember .....

Been there over 30 times so this is based on experience and an in depth knowledge of the Egyptian toilet arrangements
I've got no worries of any of the above where i'm going US Dollar is king if you know what i mean.

Working in NZ with a £10K credit card limit for "entertaining".............plus a boss who thought the answer to everything was to throw more money after the problem, Happy Days!

BUT..............missed the eldest kid's early years!

I got here last night after a 10hour drive should have taken 6 but bus had to keep waiting for armed escorts yo the camp.

I start work on the HV Electrical side sunday they also have a LV Electrical side aswell.

I had a few beers last night cost a $1.50 a bottle works out at £1 so thats ok.

Plenty of to do on here whenII've find my bearings,no complaints about the food very good and fresh and a good selection.

Work all going well I have only done one electrical job as such that was a replacement of a faulty timer and an mcb.

I also found out last week they give you $300 a month hardship money so things aren't that bad and it will hard to spend that with everythink so cheap.
