The faraday cage is were you dont get a shock from touching the cage because the voltage on it has been raised to the same voltage as the voltage you may be touching.Ie....if the cage was raised to 240v then you would not get a shock if you touched a live conductor and the cage at the same time cos they are same.

I ain't digging my degree books out, too lazy! :D

Whilst not stating that your description is incorrect, the Wiki description in the link below is nearer to my memory of them when I studied Electricity & magnetism for my BSc.

As I said this is a very basic version, however, I do believe my statements are basically correct. It seems to me that you are suggesting that the whole thing is raised to a voltage? Faraday cages are more for EM & ES fields. :p

Hi guys/ladies,

i managed to go up into the loft over the weekend and had a look at the distribution amplifier. The coax connectors (Screw on plastic ones?) were loose so tightened these up and now there is hardly any interference at all just the odd pixelation here and there but not all of the time.

Mrs wants me to leave things as it is, so thanks everyone for your ideas on this problem.

BTW I reckon its one of those cheap kits where you get amp, connectors and cheap coax, so will leave upgrade until i really need to do it.
