I`m constantly surprised - I would never have thought that a qualified "spark" (with over 20 years experience) could be totally incapable of filling in an EIC for a single circuit!

When I see a max demand of over 30KVA on an 80A main fuse, for a property whose load never exceeds 60A I have little confidence in the term "competent" - especially when his next job could well be a PIR ....

When I see competent people working on consumer units and leaving them in clearly dangerous conditions - yet confidently notifying said work in the sure and certain knowledge that they will not be brought to task over such issues ....

When a competent person cannot even fill in simple certs yet has already been deemed competent to do so - it`s time for a change I feel. bad day explode

No need to be condescending. There's a first time for everything: from walking and talking, to sex and riding a bike, through using a clamp meter and then dying (though that's usually a 'once in a lifetime' offer).Using a clamp meter and sex!! lets compare,

A/ Is the tool the right way around?

B/ Is the main conductor fully clamped

C/ Is the juice flowing

D/ Would it be eaiser to get the tool around the back

Yes there is some comparison after all :^O

Anyone got any useful tips and hints for using these?

Feel free to call us and have a word with our technical guys if you think it would help

this thread has reminded me to get mine on order from Mark.
