on the spot fines ??? class

pull over Sir......yes that's it the hard shoulder

where it is the most dangerous place on a motorway,,,,,

more deaths  cool   another 1.5 million to process each one

A lot of woman think they are only allowed to drive in the middle lane.

A lot of woman also think you must stop at a roundabout then look right, then decide its clear before proceeding.

Then there is also that select group of women who realise they must not drive whilst using the phone, but as soon as the phone rings they stop wherever they are to answer it, even if they are right on a junction, roundabout, or blocking the entrance to the supermarket, swimming baths or similar.  Never heard of find a safe place to pull over and ring the caller back.

What about the idjuts who stick on their high intensity fog lamps the minute a bit of rain appears?????

Or those who drive in mist / fog / poor visibility with NO lights on ?????

I think that cyclists who ride on the road when a cycle path has been put in at great cost should be fined....

........ and .... breathe

IF...

Cycle lanes were actually constructed to follow the priority and line of the main road you are following...

AND  they are of suitable surface so as to NOT damage wheel rims....

then possible the can be used by Cyclist.....

But to expect a Cyclist to keep slowing or stopping at every minor road junction that appears onto a major road is both stoopid and dangerous!

better for the cyclist to just keep his/her speed along the major carriageway just the same as every other vehicle on the carriageway does.,.

be it.. car/lorry/bus/tractor/motorbike/milk float/traction engine/horse & cart etc.. etc...

Children (& possibly mountain bikers with more robust rims) or those un skilled at "CYCLING" use any bike lanes  YES....

But if I am tootling along between 15-20mph along the flat...  30..35+ downhill..

No way am I going to be endangering myself on some poor uneven surface with tree roots poking though and kerbs and bumps to negotiate at every side junction!!!

I get so cross when I venture out on the roads. Round here it's bikes, gypsies and sheep to be aware of.

When I venture out onto the 'big' roads the standards of driving is shocking. I have had a licence for 13 years and the group I believe who have deteriorated most are HGV drivers. Follow so close, drift out of their lane etc.

Bikes riding side by side drive me mad. If you are going slow pull over and let people pass. That's what I did when tractor driving. Bikes never do.

Thats because a lot of drivers, havent got the foggiest of an idea in how to drive properly!

Im always amazed at people who are still blatantly holding their mobile phones to their ears whilst driving!

OK   Two pet hates .

1)     Quartz halogen headlamps .........  they approach you looking fairly dim ...then suddenly glare at you with blinding intensity.

2)     Automatic photocell /  light sensor control of headlamps .    Consider the senario ....you wait to pull out from a side road by me .. looking right under a bridge carrying M6 above .... one of these cars comes through ...and flashes his lights .... thanks. :) .. you think and go to pull out...and he roars by at 40 MPH !!!

Edit:-    OOooooohh Mobile phones !!!!!!   Don't start me on those!!!!!

As for women stopping at every island, and coming to a halt, and then deciding its safe to move on....well this is what my younger sister does and has just passed her test a few months back.

she told me this was how she was taught, oh and she has to look behind her(turning head around) before changing lane on a fast dual carriageway

Sorry Deke, i have those lights along with rain sensing wipers that either dont work or go mega fast at the slightest spot of rain

Your sister is talking about her blind spot over her right shoulder Robin, I have been taught to do the same.

Andy Guinness
She looks both left and right ffs!

i was only ever taught to look over my right shoulder when pulling away from a standstill.

For me,  plenty of time looking in mirrors before making that manouvre

NO......

that was your missus trying to explain the G-spot...  NOT the blind spot....

:slap
No wonder I couldnt find it.  Had to get another lady from down the road to show me :coat

I wasnt being unfaithful.  I paid for the training :D

ADMIN!!!!!!!!

 Reporting  Thread deteriation   !!
Dont know what your thinking Deke?

I was talking about the lady driving instructor who showed me the correct way to check for blind spots!

Dirty minds the lot of ya :slap

Please dont tell the Mrs :innocent

the world suffers from ignorant and selfish people who drive accordingly. But it has to be said we also all make mistakes while driving, I know I'm certainly not perfect. I have tried over the years to refrain from acts of revenge like paddler was talking about, it doesn't actually help, but I will ceratinly make my feelings known to people being a complete prat on purpose.

It's a shame cars don't have a message display in the back window that allows you to type a message to the other prat drivers to let them know what they are doing wrong.

Regarding looking over your right shoulder on a dual carriageway

in most cases if you have to do that then you are not using your mirrors correctly''

scenario

driving along I can see half mile up ahead I need to overtake by using all three mirrors in plenty of time I don't need to look behind me as I know what cars are there and what they are doing.....

just saying
