Nah I'd still check for motorbikes in the blond spot. Always have and always will as dad was a serious biker. Seen to many idiots pulling out without checking blind spot ... Usually young woman (not being sexist lol)

Regarding looking over your right shoulder on a dual carriageway

in most cases if you have to do that then you are not using your mirrors correctly''

scenario

driving along I can see half mile up ahead I need to overtake by using all three mirrors in plenty of time I don't need to look behind me as I know what cars are there and what they are doing.....

just saying
the worst scenario is when you are emerging onto a motorway from a slip road,  vehicles seem to stay in your blind spot and you cannot track them as they came from the side of you not behind.

Also.......be carefull when moving from the inside lane into the middle lane because another vehicle may be moving from the outside lane into the middle lane at the same time (vice-versa)........another blind spot danger area.

decent mirrors / reflectors and you shouldnt really have an issue with blindspots. the only blind spot on my van is directly behind me, although a car would have to be fairly close not to be in any mirrors (although there is a camera there, but screen is not always on)

Similar to Andy, but, I do have a bit of a blind spot along side the van.

However, glancing over my shoulder would be no use.

I would have to wind the side window down and look backwards down the side of the van @ 70mph on the motorway, regardless of what was happening in front!!!

Well I never have any of these blond spot moments because i stay out of trouble and ahead of all the other vehicles on the road :run

No but seriously, the only accidents that i have been involved in(never been my fault!) or had near misses is when I have been driving slow.  When I am on the motorway I tend to either keep my distance from cars in front until some fool pulls in front of me, otherwise I get ahead and out of the way.
