Afternoon all.

Just been to a shop where the owner is a little concerned with the electrics!!

Aparrantly the dno came and fitted a new cutout in 07 and had told the owner the electrics need condeming. Well 2 and a bit years later i get the call.

The current setup is in the cellar and damp. The supply cable enters and goes straight to new 100a cutout on a newish chipboard sheet. This then goes to another cutout - main meter - henly block - econ 7 and then off to various cu`s.

The old cutout - main meter, econ 7, henley blocks are all mounted on a sheet of wood that is rotton and has come away from the wall.

Who would be responsable for sorting. The dno are only responsable up to and inc cutout. Is it an electricity supplier job or metering people job?

Cheers

Chris

I'd say it's dno's problem, your only interested in kit after the meters.

The board the meter, cut out etc are on is the property of the dno so is down to them to sort out. Especially as re-attatching everything would involve breaking all the seals.

If you rang them and said it was in a dangerous situation they should rectify it quickly...

DNO issue. Ring them, they will fix it at some point one day when they get some spare time probably.

Hi, cheers for the replies.

DNO around here is eon/central networks, i spoke to one of their guys a while ago about a similar situation. He said all they were bothered about was upto the cutout, meter was not their problem.

In this situation the cutout is on a different wall and board to the meter.

The existing installation is a bit on the gash side and i can see it being a large can of worms!!

I think im gonna spend a long time on the phone trying to sort this one.

Re Apache : Im in Mansfield

Cheers

Chris

not that im suggesting damaging their equipment, but if the cutout was broken, then they would have to repair it (and they wouldnt be able to attach to a broken board....)
