yes, i googled that which is where i got the guess of 5.5kw motor from (still need to verify what its set to though, it was only by looking at the photo's after i got home)

wheels are about 2' dia. cant see any speed markings from the photo, but i can go look at it tomorrow

is there a standard / likely blade speed?

may be been supplied by service & tools bursgreen (durham) ltd

Nope, your best bet is to go on my advice & check what the O/L is set to, if it's near 7 it's a 4 if it's near 10 it's a 5.5!

I have a lot of Wadkin info & access to more, & a good working relationship with those who hold the Wadkin Bursgreen trade mark now, and I'm an authorised warranty repairer for Crompton Controls!

If it's the current Wadkin Bursgreen you have emailed, i.e Advanced Machinery, then I am personally friends with the directors there!

I haven't read the above

But in case its not been mentioned

Measure the PCD of the flange fixing holes and shaft diameter

Measure the OD of the locating lip on the flange (the small proud spigot)

Take and end cover off and photo it without the rotor

From that ill tell you the frame, kW and Poles

The kW will be one of 2 normally so you'll have to have the bigger one

Thats a B5 flange by the way

Sorry late to the party and if above is of no use then ill go back to my wine......

@Andy™ If you want a cost price for one let me know

ill get all that for you tomorrow

I'd covered most of it Canoe.

The issue is that 100 & 112 frames are the same mounting size and shaft size, it is only subtle differences and you can get 100 frame in 5.5kW as well as 112.

The Wadkin Bursgreen documents say that the standard motor size for this machine is 4kW, the larger C9 bandsaw is 5.5kW standard.

However, there was a 5.5kW option on the C8.

Correct its a 2 pole

Ill look the dimensions up in the morning

ok. and if you can get a price too

looking on google, it looks like either this one at 5.5kw

https://inverterdrive.com/group/Motors-AC/AC-Motor-5kw-7HP-2Pole-Tec-5523TECAB5-112-IE1/

or this one at 4kw

https://inverterdrive.com/group/Motors-AC/112M-2-Pole-B5-High-Efficiency-4kW-AC-Motor-IE2/

do i need to go back and check the thermal overload setting or shall we assume that its 5.5kw? (apart from costing a bit more i cant see any issue with fitting a 5.5kw if it was 4kw to start with, the starter & wiring will take 5.5kw)

its for a customer. the bandsaw gets used often so probably best putting a decent motor on it. there is plenty space length wise for it. looking at the currents a bit more, the existing overload is 7-10 so might not be enough for 5.5kw
