I just ordered myself a new quadcut kit, new dewalt wood flat bits, and 100 piece dewalt drill set, and a Bosch quick release cutter set.... Don't you just love new stuff.... Oh and a calcard last week...

Think a set of fluke twist and turn leads are on the radar too tomorrow...

Tell us what you've ordered over last few weeks guys that sadly, like me, puts a smile on your middle aged face on a Saturday night!!!

Steps - new earth Rods don't count!!

i managed, coz im blonde I guess, to lose my SDS drill some time ago. twas in its box, which just so happened to also contain all my SDs drill bits and chisels etc. It has been suggested to me that it may have been pilfered, which is an idea i deplore but am warming to, coz TBH it was bloody huge, Im sure I havent lost it.

So, i ordered a new one in 110volt, Bosch, from a company who were doing a cracking deal, and as Ive been doing a bit of site work lately i also orderd a 110 transformer and some bits and bobs from ITS. I also ordered some SDS bits from the bay of E.

Drill turns up first, yay! 110 sticker on the box, yet when i open it to revel in its glowing splendour its 230v - poohsticks. So I ring the company and some drone answers with "sorry...I am basicaaly useless, ill get someone to phone back int' morning"

meanwhile all my other stuff turns up, bang on :)

First company of course didnt phone back, I had to chase them only to be told it was the last one in stock. So basically they hoped i wouldnt notice it was the wrong voltage. Tawts

Eventually, I ordered a Makita from ITS again, which turned up next day (yesterday) and was exactly what it said it was gonna be. They chucked in one of them 17 piece makita SDS drill bit sets too.

Guess where ill be buying stuff from next time :)

Transit Jumbo! ;)
Saw it on a thread Sides... Looks nice.... I done the new van last year just in time to claim all the vat back on it!!!!!

I got the little 10.8v makita white and black set 1 x impact 1 x drill driver about October time... They are the nuts guys, what a superb dinky set of drills... MTS doing them for a good price...

The Milwaukee stuff puts me off cos I hadn't heard of them up until last year.... What's the word on the street with them???

Milwaukee and AEG are made in the same factory. When you register the AEG for the 3 year warranty it actually takes you to the Milwaukee site!

pity that the batteries are not interchangeable though!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :coat

Milwaukee is a very well established brand in the USA they invented the reciprocating saw and there trademark is the sawzall. I have the Milwaukee 12 volt hackzall it's come in handy quite a few times, would like the right angle drill next and the inspection camera kit.

I have an el-cheapo inspection camera kit. CPC 90 something quid. It doesn't record though. Does not get used very often , but when it does it is a REAL time saver [mine earned its keep the first time it was used. My renamed it Bumcam... :coat

The mind boggles at what you were inspecting at the time you chose to re name it.

On the subject of new stuff. I very nearly lost my brand new cordless drill several years ago when I first bought it.

I had finished a job using it for the first time, loaded up my tools, went on to the next job and a while later noticed it wasn't there. I phoned the client I had been working for, it was now well over an hour since I left the last job. He went outside, and it was STILL THERE standing on the pavement in it's case. so he took it in and I went back to collect it later.

What's the chances of a shiny new cordless drill staying where you left it on the pavement unattended for over an hour where you live and work?

where you live Dave, pretty high...and that was probably rush hour too :^O

unfortunately, not so high round here it seems :(

losing stuff...[Pro Daves Post]

Did 2 jobs for my best client on friday. 0630 start, drive to scotland, fix fire alarm. Drive back to lancaster and carry on installing new fire alarm. Left my drill in Scotland [whoops]. MD was paying a flying visit to the Scotland site, saw my drill and drove it back to Lancaster for me!!!! :worship. Most peeps would have said 'you've left your drill here, collect it next time you are passing'.....

I have a habit of loosing my test lamps used to have a Fluke T5-600 until one day when I think it was left in the bucket between repairs and bounced out, was gutted when they went got bought them by my old boss at the time.

Replaced them with a set of T140 and I mislaid them about a year ago been making do with a cheap set now.

Those new Megger ones look smart with the matching proving unit ah well shall have to dream for now. No new gear for me until some more jobs start coming in which I think is unlikely.
