This bloke has produced some free marketing videos - and they're damn good! Well worth a look ! Not young or hungry enough to buy into everything. Please have a look - would have saved me a lot of angst while I was setting up!

Sidey - when Modfather posted recently you were saying how the domestic market was ruined and gave details of how 16.5k was a more realistic expectation. Now you're saying 150k is attainable. So which is it?

Full credit to you guys - you've done something right and found the right marketing strategy - but suspect may be by moving out of the domestic sector to achieve your figures.

When I started in a partnership I made so many mistakes (not least being in a partnership!) Which would have been avoided if I'd seen these videos first. It's about marketing in the domestic sector only - and I would encourage anyone starting out to look at them while they are free!

I have done about £1k in the domestic sector in 5 years, so I have no idea, however, what I said was that £150k+ is achievable as a sole trader/one person ltd. co.

which is true.

However, in the domestic sector as a new business then perhaps £30k before expenses is IMHO nearer what is achievable.

Thus netting around perhaps £10k as an income for a purely domestic installer who has re-trained from another career, and has no experience, no contacts and no real competence.

Misunderstood - I agreed with your Modfather post so couldn't see where the 150k came in.

The domestic sector is a bit special - so much advertising doesn't seem to work. I found some of the ideas in those videos very refreshing!
