Hi

If you carryed out a PIR on a cafe, and it was unsatifactory would you still put a recommend next inspection date sticker on consumer unit?

cheers

Yes

The reason for this is to make everyone aware that a test was carried out even unsatifactory, and on that label you should give a reasonable date for the next inspection.

You could also if needed request an immediate disconnection from supply if you found anything dangerous.

Thats what i thought and done but the place has been inspected by the Health and safety (long story) and they said we should not off. because it gives the impression that it passed.

The label clearly gives a retest date, and shows that it has been tested.

I have done some where I only gave a month before the next retest, the pir certificates would clearly show unsatisfactory results, and the date for the retest is reflected in the allowable time to rectify the faults.

In this case the H&S are clearly mistaken and I would be writing a serious letter to them to explain the regulations, so they understand that the implications of placing the label on any installation is to give proper account of the installations safety and continued use.

Without this label it has neither passed or failed.

You are 100% correct to put a label on.

Hello Owen. Guinness :)

But as GH said it also shows when it was Last tested & when it next due for a test.

ALL CU's should have this sticker on... so as to comply with 514.12.1

The sticker refers to "A report on the condition of the installtion"...

any interested parties should then refer to the report to fully asses the condition. ;)
