Please do keep us informed, like I say I ordered 2 * US5000 at the end of April, checked with them last week (14 July) and they are now saying October 1st.

Their order page still shows September 8th delivery for the US5000 so really don't know what to think.
China has (had) covid shutdowns, this will cause choas with supplies.

I've received a update from ITS

The US2000 are currently on schedule for next week but the US5000 we're advised could be towards the end of Aug

Spoke to ITS by telephone. I've decided to cancel the us 5000 due to the delay in delivery and purchase a additional us2000 as they had 1 spare from the present order that has been delivered.
Sooo hopefully 2 x us 2000 pylontech being delivered next Thursday

They can claim to have as many as they like at £500 more than the ones Ive just ordered

Its technologies. They are £980 is per battery Inc Vat. Website still showing available on Monday 25th july

Thanks for the update... I think I'll wait out the delivery now. We're only using about 2-3kW per day right now with the solar providing the rest. Would have been nice to get the install complete and capture some of the excess... dumped almost 200kW into the grid in 11 days !

Bugger. I forgot to order the long cables, most places are showing out of stock. Anyone have any tips on where I can get some

Does anyone know if the cables that come with the pylontech battery's have removable ends so I can extend a short set ? If yes would 25mm 170A welding cable be adequate?

I'll have a look for you when I get home but I doubt it....

Didn't you get some with your inverter ??

Thanks m8. Yeah you get a short pair to connect one battery to the other but I need a long pair to connect to the inverter

So the connectors on one end are Amphenol SLPPA25BSR just a standard eyelet on the other.

Cable is 25mm2 (AWG4) PVC coated

Battery's arrived today.
Still can't connect them as I don't have the long cables. I'm seeing the sparky Friday at one of my property's so will ask him if he can make up some cables.

A question regards the earth cable.
I have fitted the battery's into a unit. Do I connect the earth from each battery to the cabinet bus bar and run it to the CU. Or do I just connect it to the cabinet. Or sumat else?

Mainly after asking on this forum nobody had used them and the cost was on par with pylontech which have a good reputation for reliability and value for money.
I might be the first one then :)

I am expecting a quote on Tuesday that include Sunsynk inverter and Batteries. The company who will be doing the installation is linked to the owner of of Sunsynk and they have been going for almost 20 years. I understand they are registered in the UK, with a British CEO with the head office in HongKong. Their main markets are South Africa and Australia though.

The specs of the battery seems good. I have learnt today that their 5kWh battery can discharged to 100%. The reason is that they keep a severe which is not in the specs. A bit like with a car that says the tank is 60liters but in reality it is more but you are supposed to use only the 60 liters. OK the analogy stops there before you can no problem use the reserve with your car, while for the battery it is not recommended and you'll have to mess about with the BMS settings which will invalid the warranty. Anyway, if the useable capacity is 5kWh so be it. It is better to say 5kWh you can use at 100% than saying it is a 6kWh but with a 80% DoD, if you know what I mean.

This is also a LifePO4, which I believe is a must nowaday.

I am yet to better understand the C rating.
It seems that the lowest the rating the better it is for charging, while for discharging the higher the better?

Just find this
https://www.batteriesinaflash.com/c-rating-calculator

What is C rating Calculated

C Rating is a fairly misunderstood concept in batteries. The C Rating is defined by the rate of time it takes to charge or discharge a battery. You can increase or decrease the rate which in turn will have an inverse effect on the time it takes to charge or discharge the battery. An example of this is if a battery amperage is 2000mAh or 2Ah and has a 1C rate, then it will take 60mins to charge or discharge the battery. 1C rating is the base time which is always equivalent to 1 hour or 60mins.

The C Rating's charge or discharge time changes proportionally to the rating. 1C is equal to 60mins, 2C is equivalent to 0.5h or 30mins and a 0.5C rating is equivalent to 2h or 120mins. The equation is simple. t = 1/Cr to view in hours or to view in minutes use time = 60mins / Cr (c rating)

In fact this is quite simple

However, I think we all want a battery that charges very quickly but discharge slowing to make it last no?

From the specs above. this would mean if I am correct
that at standard charging method it will take 2 hours to charge the battery and that it could take 30min to charge at max discharge but that is a pulse of 30sec. In coutniuous discharge, it will be 1h to discharge it.

Since the battery is 5.12kWh and it can be discharged at Max continuous discharging current at 1C so 1h, this means I can get 5.12kW of continuous power during 1h. If that is correct, this is the best I have seen so far.

Update.
Battery's have been fitted 1 week.
Even though we had 3 days of cloud and drizzle in the past week, they have managed to produce 35kwh of discharge. Though I've still exported 18kw back to the grid.
Wednesday and today look like the best days of the week as at 6pm the battery's are 100%. From my usage around evening-night the battery's last approx 4 hours..
In June and July my usage was approx 540kwh per month. This is roughly 50/50. 270kwh self use. 270kwh imported from the grid.. hopefully with the addition of battery's that will be closer to 75/25.

What's your capacity now??

Also, had an update from ITS, they are now saying 21st August for delivery...will keep my fingers crossed.
