If you want to see dangerous work tackled, the data needs to be there to “prove” that it exists.
So my question is why would you not report it?
I've had surprised looks and comments such as "What do I do with this ? The last guy never gave me anything".I'm fed up with being one of the few sparks around who believes in providing certificates ........
A MP daughter did die which I thought started part phaving a few reports of dodgy work isnt going to help the end result. for a start, since all they are doing is collecting data but no further investigation, i.e who done it? DIYer or 'electrician'. id expect if 90% of the dodgy work is DIYer, then any change of requirements / legislation would need to be different if it was an 'electrician' who done it
bad data can be worse than none
tbh, what we do need, is someone related to an MP etc to be killed by someone who's been assessed competant by the scams and done it so badly that someone died. maybe then something will be done about the current scams. but knowing the government, whatever other solution they come up with will probably be worse than what we have now, but at least someone will get paid for it...
That's what he was getting at,A MP daughter did die which I thought started part p
Call me cynical but if this is just to be used to collate data, whats the point of reporting it?
And more importantly why would we bother
look how well that worked out. a system that is completely unfit for purpose and should be abolishedA MP daughter did die which I thought started part p
IMHO
partP of the building regulations is what started this shitshow in the first place ,
Not so much civil servants as the general policy of outsourcing to quangos that has been in place since Thatcher in my opinion.Seems to me, yet another example of highly paid civil servants delivering very little and confusing everyone. Meanwhile the skilled people have to put up with all the ******** they have to wade through.
We have a civil service manager living next door. He keeps telling me how well paid he is. I have never met a more inept muppet..
The country needs to have experienced people who have worked in industry in charge rather than those that have only worked in an institution that delivers 'yes' men and women.
Think it was son in law putting up shelves and the cable ran diagonally along the wall. The previous house I had which had been rewired (pre part P) in replacing some wall lights I checked where cables ran with a detector and found that the cable to the fittings ran diagonally.A MP daughter did die which I thought started part p
Totally agree I would like to know who made the decision to make E10 petrol I use 10% more so that, plus the CO2 footprint of making the bioethanol plus taking out farm land to produce the starch to make the stuff just does not make common sense. Not so much civil servants as the general policy of outsourcing to quangos that has been in place since Thatcher in my opinion.
The original intention of Part P was for there to be a single registration body with no direct or indirect involvement to any other party however this was obviously far too difficult to achieve and hence we now have a rat race of incompetent people largely encouraged and endorsed by a previously respected body namely the NICEIC ripping out trade to pieces.
