The replies above are correct, the criticism by others should also be directed more to the NICEIC who will have anyone with a cheque book.

The Schemes have created a dangerous situation with their membership grab, preying on those that believe a short course can make you Competent.

The Schemes lawyers wont let them use the word Competent or Electrician, in legal documents.

The Schemes do not say that members or registrants are Competent, they call themselves Competent Person Schemes, which just cons the public and those with a cheque book into believing it.

You can see why, when an NICEIC contractor unlawfully kills someone, due to low standards, that the Coroner states that the public are still at risk from NICEIC contractors.

It is only a matter of time before the other Schemes low standards, also kill someone.

And we fund these Scams. X(

At least your honest about your standards and i hope that you use this place to do a decent safe job rather than bodge it.

To do an IR test on a existing circuit you can link L-N and test to E this eliminates any loads interfering with your test results. This is standard practice on a cu change.

On the cert put N/A in the L-L box

Hope this helps

So as we fund these schemes does that make us responsible?
