Yes,, that or soldered terminations.. Normally any inline terminations are via crimped wires in hellerman plugs/sockets or solder heat shrink splices. Even still you are not allowed to twist multi strand conductors no matter how they are terminated, even into the crimp!Most aircraft cables are terminated br crimping
