Just been out to look at a job in a B&B.

They want to add showers to three of their en-suite rooms, the plumber has been and talked about pumped instantaneous showers 8.5kW each...

The main supply is via 2 x 80A 1361's (hopefully on same phase) and they already have 2 x 8.5kW showers... you can see where this is going!!

Each guest room has it's own DB with a 30A socket circuit and 5A lighting circuit!

My idea was to for the plumber to put an dual element immersion cyl and cold water header tank in the loft, power both elements from different DB's (after down rating the socket ccts to 16A) and then have a 3bar gravity switched pump supplying all 3 showers..

I was also thinking of having 2 x DP grid isolators where ever is good and DP isolators at the cyl...

Hopefully this should give plenty of HW and a quick heat up time if all the HW gets used up...

What you recon??

pumped mixers is a much much better idea in my opinion, much lower electrical load and a better shower.
