Can anyone help. We had our old boiler replaced last summer to a Ferrolli HE 31C. We're having a really bad problem with water hammer in the hot water system when the heating is on. As you can imagine it's driving us mad and we have to turn the heating off to stop it. Can anyone offer any advice how to solve this problem

I'd be calling the original installers back to look at this if it is indeed <12 months old

water hammer normally occurs on the hot and cold water pipes. It sounds like you have loose, knocking pipes on the heating side. If this occurred after the new boiler was fitted, I would get them back in.

Edit; is it a combi?

it is a combi.

What does the pressure gauge say when heating is on. Am thinking the PRV isn't opening at 3 bar like it should.
