What are you trying to do?
Have a sub panel/CU upstairs fed with 16mm - it has a it’s own main switch and everything is RCD protected.

At the moment it’s supply comes out of the main CU on a 32amp
MCB - does this need amending? Does it need another main switch at source?

The source board will already have a main switch.

I take it this has been in place for sometime, and from what you describe is a perfectly acceptable set up. So that begs the question why are you concerned about it?

Unless you can confirm the installation method of the submain cable it may need RCD protection ...... then you'll have RCD's in series

As above why are you asking this?

The chances of selectively being achieved are all but zero.
